Benefits of Solid Hardwood

1. Durability: Hardwood flooring is very durable and will last a lifetime if maintenced correctly.

2. Timeless Aesthetics: Hardwood has a classic, timeless appeal that can add warmth and value to your home. It can also be refinished if it gets scratched or worn out,  restoring it back to brand new.

3. Increased Home Value: Homes with hardwood floors often have a higher resale value. They’re a popular choice among buyers and can make your home more attractive in the real estate market.

4. Improved Air Quality: Unlike carpets, hardwood floors don’t trap dust, pollen, or other allergens, which can improve indoor air quality.

5. Easy Maintenance: They are relatively easy to clean and maintain. Regular sweeping and occasional mopping with a wood-safe cleaner are usually sufficient.

6. Versatility: Hardwood comes in various species, colors, and finishes, allowing you to choose one that fits your decor and style preferences.

7. Natural Insulation: Wood is a natural insulator, which can help with temperature regulation in your home.

8. Environmental Impact: If sourced from sustainable forests, hardwood can be an eco-friendly option. It’s a renewable resource and can be recycled.

Installing Wooden Floor

Benefits of Engineered Wood

1. Stability: Engineered wood is more stable than solid hardwood, especially in areas with fluctuating humidity and temperature. It’s less likely to expand or contract with changes in moisture.

2. Installation Flexibility:  its more versatile than solid hardwood. It can be installed over a variety of subfloors, including concrete, and can be glued, nailed, or floated. This makes it suitable for different types of installations.

4. Appearance: It often has a real wood veneer on top, so it provides a similar look and feel to solid hardwood. The top layer can be made from various types of wood, offering a range of finishes and styles.

5. Durability: While generally not as thick as solid hardwood, engineered wood is still quite durable and can handle everyday wear and tear.  although there are Higher-end engineered woods that have thicker wear layers that can be sanded and refinished if needed and also can be made 3/4" thick if desired.

6. Environmental Benefits: Engineered wood uses a smaller amount of hardwood compared to solid wood, as the top layer is thin and the core is made from a combination of wood fibers and adhesives. This can be a more sustainable option.

7. Ease of Maintenance: Like solid hardwood, engineered wood is relatively easy to clean and maintain. Regular sweeping and occasional mopping are typically sufficient.

8. Moisture Resistance: It handles moisture better than solid hardwood, making it suitable for areas like basements or bathrooms where solid wood might be prone to warping.

Benefits of Vinyl Flooring

1. Durability: Vinyl is highly durable and resistant to scratches, dents, and stains. It’s ideal for high-traffic areas and homes with pets or children.

2. Water Resistance: It’s highly resistant to moisture, making it suitable for areas prone to spills and high humidity, like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements.

3. Affordability: Vinyl flooring is generally less expensive than hardwood or engineered wood, offering a cost-effective option for many homeowners.

4. Easy Installation: Many vinyl options, particularly luxury vinyl planks (LVP) and tiles (LVT), feature a click-lock installation system that doesn’t require glue or nails, making it a DIY-friendly choice.

5. Comfort: It’s softer and warmer underfoot compared to tile or hardwood, which can be more comfortable for standing and walking.

6. Variety of Styles: Vinyl comes in a wide range of styles, colors, and patterns, including options that mimic the look of natural materials like wood or stone.

7. Low Maintenance: It’s easy to clean and maintain. Regular sweeping and occasional mopping are usually sufficient to keep it looking good.

8. Noise Reduction: Vinyl has sound-absorbing qualities, which can help reduce noise, making it a good choice for multi-level homes or apartments.

9. Scratch and Stain Resistance: It’s resistant to most scratches and stains, which can be particularly advantageous in busy households.

"Sean and Amber just finished the installation of hardwood floors on our second floor, and we are so thrilled! We asked them to attempt to match the existing first floor which is original to the house from the 1960s, but wanted pre-finished to avoid sanding, staining, etc. They found the perfect flooring. Their team installed it in one long day, and they put everything back in place and cleaned up completely. We highly recommend them!!!!"
